On Thursday of last week, Ellori had an appointment for her Kindergarten testing. We told her that she was just going to play games with the teacher, and to have fun. Asa and I went downstairs to watch the basketball game while she played. I joked that if she didn't pass, I was going to have to pay someone off, because I was ready for all day Kindergarten.....I've had kids at home for the past 16 years! (Conner will be 16 in July.) Well, she did wonderful, and Mrs. Miller said that she is ready for Kindergarten! She was extremely excited, and couldn't stop talking about school. She wanted to know if she could get a new back-pack, and whether or not she also would get a "lunch box"? It's amazing how ready she really is.....they'll be 6 in September, and she wants to learn to read. She apparently was asked to draw a picture of Randy (daddy), and after adding long hair with a curl at the ends, a dress and a beaded necklace.......Mrs. Miller asked her again who she was drawing,....."Me!", she replied. Of course.....
She hasn't stopped asking about school, and when she will start. She wants to go shopping for her backpack and lunch box now....poor thing, she has another 6 months!
On Monday she wanted to know if we could go, "...look at her classroom, again?" And when, after discussing Girl Scouts and whether or not she wanted to be involved in Girl Scouts or Camp Fire Girls, she hesitated and replied with...."hmmmm, do I still get to go to school?"
She makes me laugh.
